Our Snow Day

Like many places over the last two days, we got some snow (about 6 inches). Ian was bundled up and sent out to 'help' Dad clear things off. There were a few shovel fulls tossed back and forth - Dad started it! Our little boy was happy to just lay in the snow and enjoy the moment. All this excitement took place during Natalie's morning nap....too cold for her. Anyone for hot chocolate?

Mohawk Man

Do you see the cool attitude in Ian's eyes? Oh, its there. He asked for spiked hair again today after bath, so I offered a Mohawk (we weren't going out anyway). It didn't stay vertical for very long but it was funny watching him be careful with his hair....foreshadow to the teen years.

First Stand Video

I was taking a short video of her drumming on this box and then....she just pushed herself up and stood. Its pretty cool we have a first like this on video.

Standing Already

Our girl just started crawling efficiently a week or so ago. Then, she had to be an overachiever and stand up! It wasn't just a once in a while thing. She falls pretty gracefully and always wants to go right back up. Its more of a push up technique rather than a pull up move. The first time she did it was on a big cardboard box. See how her legs are kinda wide in this picture? She ended up almost doing the splits!

The Amazing Ian

I am a firm believer now that every little boy needs a cape. It sparks the imagination and out comes the personality, which in Ian's case isn't too hard to do. You'll notice the Amazing Ian is still working on NOT having his underwear sticking out of his pants after a potty break (bottom left photo). Priceless!

On The Go

Here Natalie was sneaking out of her room before we got PJs on her last night. Love the look peeking around the corner. Below is a short clip of her beginners crawl. Enjoy!

Tunnel Fun

Dad was babysitting today and had both of the kiddos in the tunnel. Natalie loves to grab at her brother's hair and this was the perfect setup to get a handful. She pulls and he laughs....I don't get it but enjoy the smiles just the same.

Cheese!

Natalie was smiling SO big after lunch today - so out comes the camera. This grin really showcases those two bottom teeth as well as parts of her lunch! If you were curious about the name tag in the background.....no we don't get confused about who she is. Ian is practicing writing his name a lot lately. He had the idea to make name tags and I had to make a one for myself and Natalie too. She would eat hers so we just put it on her chair!

Friday Night Out

Brad finished early on Friday, so we decided to have an outing. We have been cooped up lately. The guys enjoyed some interesting things at the Science Center - like 3D pictures, bug inspecting, and learning about volcanos. Natalie took it all in while bundled up in the stroller. As for Mom, well, I am just the photographer!

Breakfast For Lunch

Ian asked me to make waffles for him...AFTER we had already eaten breakfast this morning. So we decided to make waffles for lunch rather than waiting another day. First we had our plain waffles with strawberries and bacon. Then, we added some chocolate chips to the leftover batter for the dessert portion of the meal. That was his favorite.

After the crazy lunch, Ian was fort building with the comforter and pillows since I stripped the bed for laundry today. He wanted Natalie to hang out in there with him. Here they are inside his 'snuggly fort' as he called it. Perfectly padded for baby sister!

Ready To Go

This girl is trying her best to crawl. She will go from laying on her belly, then do a push up and tuck both knees under her in this little hop. She will move an arm or leg once, just enough to get to what she wants then back on the belly to play. Gonna have to keep a CLOSE eye on this one. She just has to decide to do it!

Playing With Dad

Natalie got some good one-on-one time with Dad today, loving every minute of it.

Ian's Fun Day

If any of you wondered what a day in the life of Ian looked like - here it is. After breakfast, we do a little fort building with some new blocks from Santa. Later on, he logs some practice time for the sledding adventure he has always dreamed of. When you're out shopping and your kid straps on goggles and pretends he is going down a mountain, there is only one thing to do.....get the camera! Mom and Dad could take some lessons from this guy.
