Birthday Party At School

At Ian's preschool, they pick one day a month to celebrate all the birthdays for the month. So today there was a party for Ian and two other boys who had September birthdays. They get to wear a special hat, scarf and be a line leader. Here he was lining up with the class after potty break (yup, shirt tucked in underwear as proof) and heading to the snack room for some milk and cookies. He was excited to have Natalie and me there too, even saving a seat for us. That's my boy!

Ready For The Close Up

Natalie was working the camera a little today before her nap. There is hardly anything better than a little baby just hanging out naked and playing. Ian was playing next to her while I was taking pictures. She is so entertained by him, watching his every move. Wonder what she'll pick up from him?!? Yikes!

Vader & Vols

Ian started his Saturday off with a event at the mall where he got to meet some Star Wars characters. He was in character himself as a clone while posing with these guys and his friend Ali.

After a nap to recover from the Star Wars excitement, Ian put on a jersey and started to cheer on the Vols. I found an old orange onesie of his to put on Natalie (little big). As he watched the game, she was figuring out how to get his sleeve in her mouth to chew on it!

Playing Dress Up

We played dress up with Natalie today, with a new fall dress and matching hat (so fun). You'll notice the tights will the mary jane bottoms!! I couldn't decide which picture to post so I did both. Their expressions below crack me up. She was done playing in clothes and her cry didn't phase him a bit!

Dentist Vs. Ian

Ian got his teeth cleaned at the dentist today. We were a little nervous about how it would go. They gave him sunglasses so the overhead spotlight wouldn't bother him. There was a TV screen overhead too, which explains his zombie expression in this picture. He followed directions really well despite not wanting to go in. He held a action figure in his hands to make him feel better, thank goodness for stormtroopers. Whew - until next time!

Brother & Sister

Ian and Natalie were hanging out in his room laughing at each other one night. He loves posing for pictures with his baby sister. He is pretty good about hugs and kisses too. He calls her 'sweet baby girl', something he picked up from Mom and Dad.

Don't you just love that they have that same cheeky grin while they look at each other?!

Natalie's First Shoes

Natalie got all dressed up and wore shoes for the first time. We've been in onesies and barefoot all summer, but its time to cover those piggies up now. These were little white tennis shoes that Ian had when he was little. She does enjoy playing with her toes quite a bit....so we have to let them out from time to time.

First Day In Fours Class

Ian was excited to start preschool again. This time he is in the 'four year old' classroom and very proud of it. His homeroom is the Jungle Room, painted and decorated just as you'd imagine. There are a couple of buddies from last year in his homeroom and the others he sees when he stays for lunch sometime. He is our big guy!

Happy 4th Birthday Ian!!

We had a great 4th birthday party for Ian in Nashville with a lot of family around to celebrate. Ian asked for a strawberry cake (2nd yr running) and enjoyed a Star Wars theme.

Some of the cousins played along with the theme by wearing some Darth Vader party masks!

The Vaders unmasked! (plus Natalie and Quen)

Pool Time

Not that you can tell by looking at this picture, but we all had a great time playing at the pool while visiting the Eastridges. I couldn't resist the chance to snap a shot of Natalie's bottom lip stuck out like this. Its SO hard to be the baby!

The rest of the crowd was too busy having fun to worry about Natalie (it didn't last long anyway). Ian did a lot of swimming solo with water wing help - big step - but also floated pretty close to Rachel most of the time. As you can see, the water gun games were on!

We have the same silly 'sun is in my eyes' smile!
